Bibi Sharoon is Best Graduating StudentBibi Sharoon De Freitas was the Best Graduating Student and was duly awarded when the University of Guyana Tain Campus held its Seventh annual graduation ceremony last Saturday.Ms Christina Khedaroo was adjudged the second Best Graduating Student.In her valedictory address,Auston Matthews Jersey, De Freitas congratulated her fellow graduates on their well-deserved academic accomplishment, even as she attributed her success to God, lecturers, family and friends.She reminisced on special moments spent with friends and lecturers at the Berbice campus and expressed optimism at the continuing growth and success of the educational entity over the years.The graduation ceremony was held on the lawns of the campus and was officiated by dignitaries from the Turkeyen Campus, among them being Dr. Prem Misir, the Pro Chancellor; Mr. Tota Mangar, the Vice Chancellor (Acting); Mr. Vincent Alexander, the Registrar (Acting); and the Deans of Faculties.Also in attendance at the convocation were Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Ralph Ramkarran, and members of the private sector.The ceremony saw some 160 graduates being rewarded for their academic success, among them 74 from the School of Education and Humanities, 70 from the Division of Social Sciences, nine from the Division of Natural Sciences, and seven from the Division of Agriculture.Of the 160 graduates, 63 were presented with Diplomas, 38 with Certificates, five with Associate Degrees, and 54 with Degrees.The School of Education and Humanities honoured 38 students with Certificates in Education, 13 in Administration, 12 in Primary Education, six in Nursery Education,Off White Vapormax For Sale, and seven in Social Studies.This division also honoured 36 students with Degrees in Education; 12 in Administration; 16 in Primary Education; four in Nursery Education and three in Social Studies. Along with this department, the Division of Social Sciences honoured 59 students with Diplomas and 11 students with Degrees.Of this group, 13 students received Diplomas in Accounting, 18 with Diplomas in Marketing, 11 with Diplomas in Social Work,Nike Air Max 95 Mens, and 17 with Diplomas in Public Management. However, the only degree programme offered by the division is Public Management, a field in which 11 students graduated this year.Also, the Division of Natural Sciences, which offers only Diploma/Associate Degree programmes, awarded four students with Associate Degrees in Mathematics, one with an Associate Degree in Biology, and four with Diplomas in Computer Science while the Division of Agriculture awarded seven students with Degrees in Agriculture.In his address to the gathering, the Director of campus, Professor Daizal Samad, commended the graduates on their success in the university community.
